WP5 – Electricity & Fossile Fuels

Work package leads: Electricity & Oil refinery (Pannon) Biomass Energy (Imperial) Water Energy Nexus (EPFL)

The Electricity & Fossil Fuels work-package has the objective of exploring pathways for the transformation of primary resources into electricity (including water demand), refined oil products and bio-based energy carriers. This work-package will guarantee that the energy demand in the EU calculator model is met through different pathways of electricity generation, oil refineries, biomass transformation and water demand of electricity generation. In addition, the often disregarded double dependency of water and energy (water-energy nexus) will be investigated in this work-package in order to make projections of the energy sector more comprehensive.
